Photos of life inside Google

If you are a Google user in anyway or form, you might appreciate this photo gallery which was put together by Time magazine.
Life in Googleplex looks more like a college with extra gizmo to play with, complete with swimming pools and hair stylists, than a corporate headquarters of a multibillion dollar company. Interesting.

Can you create a beautiful picture using MS Paint?
February 24, 2006 by Gaman · Leave a Comment
I remembered when I was in my first year in college, I drew a diagram for my engineering project using MS Paint because there’s no other graphic editing software available in that department computer. It was a pain, but I did manage to draw the relatively simple diagram.
Most people consider MS Paint as a relatively primitive tool. Its full potential can be realised if you are an artist named Stanley William II. He has created some impressive art works using nothing but MS Paint. His art is so good, in fact, that some have doubted its origins. So Moore has taken pains to offer proof of his methods, with zoomed images.

No it’s not me, I am not a full time blogger, but I am a full time Internet marketer so I can’t quit
Jason Kottke, a Web designer who quit his job to run his blog full-time, has abandoned his plan to make a living through blogging after exactly one year.
He has been seeking payments from his regular readers to support his endeavor by creating a subscription model. From the article
Kottke revealed on Wednesday that he had raised a total of $39,900 from 1,450 donors. Most of that was received in the initial fund-raising drive in February and March 2005, when his project began.
Sex with your mobile phone
Google has been looking into what people are searching for on their mobile phones. Turns out, indeed, it’s all about sex. In the NewScientists.com article which I quote fully below:
LOOKING at porn on a PC is, apparently, so last century, and only a fool risks a furtive glance at adult websites on their company PDA. Nowadays the cellphone is the device of choice for those seeking out porn on the web, according to research by Google.
Net video explosion triggers traffic jam worries
February 24, 2006 by Gaman · Leave a Comment
Have you noticed that you are watching video clips on the Internet more frequently lately? With this new blog and my other funny stuff blog at OffbeatEnough.com at least I did noticed. Apparently we and the rest of the Internet population are not alone as the amount of online videos is skyrocketing.
This phenomena has caused some concern over the possible traffic jam caused by increased video downloads. From the article
Business and entertainment content worth billions of dollars now flows over ordinary ISP networks. Internet voice calls, which can be garbled by any network congestion, are increasingly common. Serious online hiccups could be as irritating, and potentially economically damaging, as persistent L.A. traffic jams.
Google launched Web page creator

Google has joined Yahoo to offer an online Web page creator. Still in beta, this service lets people create content, upload images and publish pages without the need to know HTML. People can create multiple linked pages and are allowed 100MB of storage on the service. The pages are hosted on Google servers and can be accessed via http://yourgmailusername.googlepages.com.
The main different between this service with other provider is that Google allows you to create pages, not a site. According to Google online documentation:

World population to reach 6.5 billion this Saturday
February 22, 2006 by Gaman · Leave a Comment
The World Population clock estimates the planet’s population is projected to reach 6.5 billion at 7:16 p.m. EST Saturday.
The clocks operates continuously, estimates that each second 4.1 people are born and 1.8 people die. The figures are estimates, subject to error, given the difficulties of maintaining an accurate global population count.
An interesting article at Wired News discuss this issue can be found here.
A ghost captured on video?
February 22, 2006 by Gaman · 2 Comments
This is a car advertisement from Great Britain. When they finished filming the ad, the film editor noticed something moving along the side of the car, like a ghostly white mist. They found out that a person had been killed a year earlier in that exact same spot. The ad was never put on TV because of the unexplained ghostly phenomenon.
Watch the front end of the car closely as it clears the trees in the middle of the screen and you’ll see the white mist crossing in front of the car then following it along the road….Spooky!
