The microphones of the near future shrinked to a single chip

A new digital version of microphones are said to be produced consisting of a single chip which can be manufactured using the standard silicon processes.

This radical change could give designers more freedom to produce practical and great products while at the same time, it’s said that the chip could lead to better voice quality on Skype phones embedded in laptops, for example, or sharper, more distinct sound on video captured by digital cameras.
