Flash plugin that helps you embed flash object into your blog post

March 16, 2006 by

I searched the web looking for a plugin that can help me embed flash object into my post at and found three flash plugins.

Two of them work but one didn’t. So if you want the ability to add flash into your post, I hope this post will help you save time and avoid frustration trying plugins that do not work with WordPress 2.0.1.

1. Flashifier v0.11

This one simply does not work with WordPress 2.0.1. All I got was a blank rectangle. It was last updated on June 5, 2004 and seems to have been abandon by the developer.

2. Kimli Flash Embed for WordPress v1.0

I tried this one and it worked fine until I noticed it broke several other plugins. My WP-Email and Post Teaser simply stopped working properly. So this one is still buggy for my needs and I had to pass.

3. Flash Quicktag v1.0
I am currently using this plugin for my blog. It adds a tag in your post editor allowing you to quickly insert XHTML valid flash code for your flash files.

You can manually write the code to embed flash object but if you want to do the easy way, a plugin is the only way to go. If you find other flash plugins that work and easy to install, please leave your comment.

Thanks for the info about how to embed a flash object into my WordPress blog. The link you have also has some good info on getting the plug-in up and working. I’d tried all sorts of cut and paste to get this done, but this seems like it will be a much easier solution.
I’m going to install it now and give it a shot with a Trunk Monkey video. You can check out the result if you’d like at http//
Thanks again,
