How Many Ads Is Too Much?
May 17, 2006 by Gaman
Photoshopblog has posted an interesting article regarding the ads and other real estate breakdown on Engadget blog.
I personally find the number of ads and their placement on Engadget pages quite acceptable. This acceptance is due to the fact that I find image ads which are not as common as text ads on the page more annoying.
That said, I also find text ads that seriously get in the way of the ability to read the page content smoothly pretty annoying.
Finding the right balance between content and ads is important. Too much ads and some people will brand you as greedy, and this is one reason why a blog fails.
How much is too much for you?

Just check out LiewCF for a case study in too much.
If you think Engadget’s placements are “OK”, then you obviously have a high tolerance level of web irritants.
ST’s comment about LiewCF may be arguable… but I must say he should brush up on his English a lot more than his skills on “decorating” his blog with ads.
Well, I couldnt agree more with ST, but I wonder is mine too much too.
