Ransomware Arhiveus Trojan Password Discovered
June 7, 2006 by Gaman
Arhiveus-A is a Trojan that holds infected users’ ‘My Documents’ folders ransoms by packing them in an encrypted file called EncryptedFiles.als
To recover their documents, users are informed that they will need to make purchases at one of three online drug stores, in return for a “30 digit” password that can be used to unlock the encrypted file.
Fortunately, that’s the route you do not have to take any longer. Anti-virus analysis at Sophos have cracked the Arhiveus Trojan and discovered that the password it uses to encrypt data is:
“mf2lro8sw03ufvnsq034jfowr18f3cszc20vmw”
