Google Launches Browser Sync for Firefox
June 13, 2006 by Gaman

Browser Sync is a Firefox extension that synchronizes your browser’s settings, including bookmarks, history, persistent cookies and saved passwords, across multiple computers.
If you only have one computer, this extension is still useful for maintaining backup settings and for restoring open tabs and windows across browser sessions.
If you have several computers, you can install Browser Sync on each computer. Once installed Firefox will update settings each time the user starts Firefox. As a result, the browser will take longer than usual to load.
The setup process is simplified with a wizard that will take you through a series of steps that includes choosing password and the components to be synchronized.
The settings will be automatically downloaded to other computers after you log in with a Google Account username and password and provide the synchronization password.
I wonder why nobody has thought about writing such extension sooner. I believe it’s going to be useful in my LAN.
Anyway, check out Google Browser Sync

recently i changed laptops, and used Mozbackup to do the job for me (http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/)
mozbackup does not seem to have the ability to automatically sync settings across multiple computers.
