Get Listed In Yahoo! Directory For Only $60?
September 20, 2006 by Gaman
I don’t know about you but I feel that the value of a listing in Yahoo! Directory is diminishing by the day especially when it costs you USD299 annually to maintain your listing.
That’s what I paid for several of my sites which are currently listed there and I am thinking whether I should continue by payment for next year. On the other hand, I still feel that the listings do add some level of trust to my organic results even after Yahoo start using the redirect method which might prevent proper passing of PR.
But from my experience, that’s not always the case.
Anyway recently I came across a forum thread at DigitalPoint Forum about a guy who guarantees listings in the Yahoo! Directory for only $60 which usually set you back $299 for review. I suppose he has found some backdoor into the directory. It’ll cost you the usual $299 anually to maintain your listings though, no shortcut there.
From the thread, it appears this guy is delivering his promise. There are some complaints here and there about changed descriptions or category but I guess that’s beyond his control as these are ultimately decided by Yahoo!
As of today, the guy is not accepting any order, and I assume he will start taking orders when the backlog is cleared.
This is tempting and for $60, I think it’s worth it.
Taking about Yahoo! Backdoor, I stumbled upon another one here by Joe Petrow.
I haven’t tried it yet. The page was last updated on January 15th 2003, so I doubt it still works today.
What do you think?
