China’s Blogging Population Reaches 20 Million

The number of Internet bloggers in China reached 20.8 million at the end of 2006. About 7 million to go before it surpasses Malaysia’s population.

While Malaysian bloggers enjoy a relatively more freedom of expression, the Chinese government’s concern over the rise of this trend may require all users to register with their real names before blogging.
