Affiliate Program Success in 11 Steps

February 12, 2007 by

Payday Loan Blog has a post up sharing their top 11 marketing lessons, which range from keyword research to content development.

If you are trying to make money from affiliate programs, this post should give you an overview on the things that you should consider when embarking on this venture.

Most new bloggers probably do not realize that in order to make money from affiliate programs, they need to create a dedicated website for it.

Plastering affiliate banners on your blog would probably make you a couple of bucks but in order to be more successful, you’ll need to do more than that. I think, a blog is good for contextual advertising but not so good when it comes to making money from affiliate programs.

From my experience, it’s easier to make US1000 per month from a website dedicated to affiliate programs which gets 1000 unique visitors daily than a blog which attract 2000 readers.

The steps discussed in the article include

1. KW Research.
2. Finding and buying a domain.
3. Hosting the domain.
4. Semi-parking the domain.
5. Seeding the site.
6. Finding the right offer(s).
7. Develop the graphical shell.
8. Develop the content.
9. PPC to find your money phrases.
10. Embark on your SEO strategy.
11. Profit

One very important point that has been left out is competition research. You must know who your competition is and what they are up to. I go as far as setting up google alerts for those sites I wish to keep an eye on.
