Double Trouble

March 13, 2007 by Gaman

Today hasn’t been a good day for me. My server has been offline more frequently since the past few says. It’s frustrating to say the least.

I think know what causing the problem but since I am not an expert in server administration I am unable to fix it once and for all. I am on unmanaged server by the way and now am considering moving to a fully managed server.

I’ve been on this server close to two years or so, and another two using other unmanaged server. I am ok with basic server setup and administrations but I guess I rather have the experts do those and the complicated tasks so that I can concentrate on building my business.

Then last night my computer crashed. Have to fix my Outlook data file and it seems to be working now.

I am aware of that, that’s why I’ve been on unmanaged server in the first place. Anyway, I’ve found some pretty good deal but then I might purchase an unmanaged dedicated server in the future.

BTW, dedicated server hosting is not the same like web hosting.

You are given a vanila box and it’s up to your to do the programming/hardening/optimization and set up the server for hosting.
