Digg users mostly techies. And techies seldom click on ads. Google traffic could consist lots of non-techies, who they're always curious about text ad link like adsense or banner ads, so they tend to click more :)

Yep, digg and Slashdot traffic are virtually useless from a traffic to click conversion aspect. Essentially, technically-adept visitors make poor target audiences.

If Gaman doesn't mind me posting a link here, you might want to take a look at my recent take on <a href="http://www.heritage-tech.net/401/five-secrets-of-high-adsense-earning-web-sites-that-the-experts-dont-want-you-to-know/" rel="nofollow">why a tech-savvy audience should not be targetted for AdSense earnings</a>.

I believe Digg users do familiar with ads and they were information oriented user rather than Google users where come from searching process and they are buyer oriented. So we better derive traffic from Google Gaman. I go firstlah..LOL.
