5 Tips to Make Your Blog Stickier

There are several things you can do to encourage your visitors spend more time on you blog. Instead of letting them visit your blog, read a post or two on the main page then leave, you can make your blog stickier which keeps them on your blog longer.

There are several benefits of having a sticky blog. First, sticky blog develops individual relationships with your readers. You’ll gain their trust which is crucial in ensuring the success of your blog in the long run. Also people will only buy from your if they trust you.

Second, sticky blog means increase exposure to your advertising messages, products or services. This gives you ample opportunity to improve your sales or click through counts of your AdSense ads.

Third, you gain valuable feedback from your readers. You can find out your visitors likes and dislikes. This information is valuable to help you improve your blog.

I’ve implemented all of the suggestions and below is my comment on how effective each tip is at Sabahan.com

1. Use a Related Posts plugin

This is one of the first plugins I install when launching a new blog. An interested reader will likely click and read a related topic so take advantage of this by installing this plugin You can see a related topic at the bottom of each post here at Sabahan.com

2. List your most popular posts in your sidebar.

You can see my most popular posts in my left sidebar. (I think there’s a bug in the plugin that I’m using though)

3. Make your feed prominent and offer multiple options for subscription.

You can see the orange feed subscription button at the top of my left side bar.

4. Build "Flagship Content".

Up till now, people are still coming back to read the following posts

5. Install a subscribe to comments plugin.
