The more I read about Windows Vista, the more tempted I become to upgrade my Windows XP to the latest release from Microsoft as soon as possible.
I decide to upgrade not because I can afford to or because I have a Vista Premium Ready PC but because I need to. As a software developer for the Windows platform, there’s no escaping for me to ensure that my software are compatible with the latest OS in the market.
PM Rejects Proposal to Register Bloggers

Finally someone comes to their senses and rejects the idea to register bloggers.
The Prime Minister announced his decision to reject the proposal to register local bloggers with the government.
He recognizes that bloggers can easily get around the regulation by using foreign servers and overseas blogging platforms. He continues to issue warning against bloggers not publish rumors or offensive remarks and said existing laws are sufficient.
How do one defines rumors? Are they views that are critical to the government policies?

A recent survey conducted by Symantec reveals alarming stats that showed 96% of computers in Malaysia are zombie machines.
This gives another reason for us to be more wary especially if you are using public computers such as those in cybercafes.
Zombie machines are PCs that have been compromised by hackers and used to send spam emails, or launched phishing attacked that lure unwitting computer users to reveal personal information such as credit card details and bank account passwords.

You know I’ve always wondered how secure the LHDN e-filing system was. When the publics’ private and confidential info is involved, there’s no excuse for them not to build a robust, scalable and secure system.
With a mantra ‘Mudah Tepat Selamat’ (Easy Accurate Secure) – one would expect they have done rigorous testings to ensure the system lives to its expectation.

In case you’ve missed the news, the Malaysian Government is considering registering local bloggers in a move which they hope will prevent the spread of negative or malicious content on the Internet.
On the 5 April 2007, The Star Online published an article about the Deputy Energy, Water and Communications Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor proposing bloggers using locally hosted websites may be asked to register with the authorities.
Shaziman said there are about 50,000 websites registered under the .my domain and any of these websites could provide a fertile ground for the concoction of malicious content which could harm the country’s security.
