What Would You Do If You Have US400 to Spend on Your Blog Promotion?
May 22, 2007 by Gaman
I have set aside about $400 to spend on the promotion effort for Sabahan.com. However I have not decided what I should spend it on.
I’ve some interesting ideas but I want to make sure it’s spent on things that could offer the best return on investment. I know US400 is not much to some people but considering that this blog is just my part time venture, that amount is quite substantial to me.
Hey that amount can get me a Windows Vista Ultimate!
Anyway, I prefer to look it at it for the long term. I am sure in the future I could recover that amount easily from text link ads, but that’s not happening now.
So just to start some discussion, I’d just like to ask you, my loyal readers the following question.
Please share us the reasoning behind your selection in the comment section.

Hi bro, if I was you, I will create another 10 blogs and make another $10000. hahaha… If you really wanna make this blog famous, john chow is not bad, can consider.
how are you gonna manage your another 10 blogs then?
Maybe you should spend it on AdWords
of course i will do something that can make more money.
1. advertise/get reviewed on other famous blogs/sites
2. adwords/text link ads
3. make a contest
with that extra..hmmm… get reviewed by JohnChow.com of course. the extra, adwords.
if any balance again…spend none of the above. buy toys and gifts for your family… hahhaa. Ok ok. out of topic.
Buy a review at JohnChow and create a contest similar to John Chow’s Making Money Online Reviews by offering cash prize
Spend it wisely and come out with a new campaign so that you can make your name on the blogging world
Spend it on Adwords first, then when you make more money buy a review on JohnChow or other similar famous sites.
You can get some traffic from AdWords but it’s not easy to recover the cost and make profit if your main income from your blog where the traffic went to comes from AdSense and Text Link Ads.
AdWords won’t bring immediate ROI unless you are selling something.
My idea is:
Use $300 buy a super small computer…
then review it and write “how to…”
other $100 get SEO people to SEO my site
Spend it on SponsoredReviews.com, I have written a post why SR was better option for advertisers. You could get up to 80 reviews for that amount.
adwords of course
Another idea would spend part of the money to create a campaign that asks the readers to referral people to your blog by writing about sabahan.com. The top 3 referral get some of the money and maybe some personal advice or coach about their online ventures from you as well. Something more valuable that the $$$…

If promotion = traffic, I seriously doubt buying a review somewhere would bring traffic unless the review is fantastic and gives a conclusion that the site being reviewed is a “must see”.
For me, as a reader, I won’t actually click on any site which is being reviewed unless the topic or site being reviewed is relevant to my interest.
Better keep the USD400 with you for rainy days
Afterall, you are doing well and you’ve your loyal readers.
Alright, I’ll go with JohnChow.com for the first month. You can expect HUGE traffic from John Chow, man. You can do the rest the next coming month.
