Great info and discussion as always. I just wish I know someone inside the google office that works in this algorithm. That would make my life easy :D

This is why I think it's more important to focus on what Google is trying to achieve rather than how one could find a loophole in Google's algorithm that will surely disappear in the future.

Of course. The purpose of this post is just to demonstrate that Google is updating its algorithm recently.

It focuses on just ONE minute details of the website's SEO effort. I can talk about the long tail keywords that generates thousands of dollars monthly for that website but that's for another post :)

Research shows that it is better to aim for long tail keywords instead of one primary keywords. Long tail keywords tend to bring more traffic from search engines in the long run.

I think in the current competitive scenario, it better to diversify the keywords.

I agree.

I think getting on the first page for a single competitive dictionary keyword is good enough.

I would be hard-pressed if I try to achieve that today.

Now it's up to Google if they want to rank me higher. I can get higher if you could get me links from freebie sites with PR5 and above hehe. But one thing I learn since 1998, you can't guarantee ranking.

Actually people tend to get confused between the "search algos" and "PR algos" of Google. Anyway, both algos are updated constantly. Google has to do that, this is their business!

"PR export" on the other hand, is a different matter altogether. Yep, this process happens roughly once every quarter. Most people mistaken this as "PageRank update".

On an unrelated note, if you want that web site to rank higher for that keyword, give me a shoutout Gaman :)
