Especially if there's something new or breaking. I think in regards to the "to-do" list it's also helpful to have an "idea list" of random stuff you just write down when you think about it. Then, when you have writer's block or want to see the best ideas to post next you have a pool to draw from. Lastly, your tip for using Outlook for the to-do's is helpful, but I prefer something web based that I can access from any pc in the world. Also, if you use a site with built-in functionality (like NetVibes.com) you can not only have a to-do list, but read your feeds, and add other widgets to do just about anything!
