How Much Money Did You Earn On Your First Day Running AdSense?

September 17, 2007 by

A member at DigitalPoint Forums asks how much did other members earn from AdSense on their first day.

Most members reported they earn nothing, but a few earn a couple of dollars.

If you have a brand new website, itโ€™s normal to earn nothing or a couple of bucks for a start.

My first day with Google AdSense was on Friday, September 12, 2003 where I earn $0.27. It wasn’t a full day. The real earning was made on the second day where it jumped to $37.73, then $32.51 the next day, and $45.04 the day after.

It was so easy to make money from AdSense because I had an existing high traffic website which allowed me to make money right away.

Unfortunately the good times ceased abruptly when Google changed their algorithm. This affected the siteโ€™s daily traffic and ultimately its income suffered.

Today I earn an average of $20 from AdSense, it has been improving lately and for the first times in many months, I have several $30 plus days. I know itโ€™s not as much as what some people are making but I am happy to see the improvement.

I am currently launching two new blogs and are reviving some of my nearly forgotten blogs. Besides working hard to improve my affiliate program commissions, my goal is to increase my AdSense income to a four figure income by the end of this year.

it’s all about the traffic I guess, Gaman already mentioned his blog had a huge traffic so putting an adsense ads will surely earns him a lot from the start.. wished I started earlier in this make money online business ~sigh ๐Ÿ™

You can check it from AdSense stats. In the Advanced Reports tab, just select “All time” when generating a report.

That’s mine. It has been two years and I only manage as much as I made from PPP (USD12K)in 10 mths. But it doesn’t require effort so it is still good money.

I have set up a number of sites which use, to a greater or lesser degree, some adsense.

First days are always quite low, as I put the adsense in there on the very first day of the site (though it is usually extremely inobtrusive right at the beginning) and hence the traffic is not high.

I launched a site yesterday which made $3.32 – the best so far – as it benefited from links from all my other sites.

However, I spend most of my time trying to make the Adsense ads almost disappear, keeping the rest of the site totally free, and concentrate on improving the content. A high search ranking, and a well respected site will earn more money than one plastered with Adsense in the long run: people will get turned off an adsense heavy website, no matter how good its content.

I would like to know if you include adsense after your website have traffic? How many? or how long after you publish your website?

This is what I tends to do, and not to scare visitor away with adsense over the page….

My first day on AdSense I earned absolutely nothing! In fact, the trend continued for quite a few weeks. This was back in March this year.

Since then, however things have improved, albeit modestly. I usually make around $0.50 – $2.00 a day (not that much I know) But I am working to change that!

Well wishes to everyone on AdSense!

I’ve joined adsense since its early day. Not to brag but I thought I should comment this. Let me see.

Tuesday, June 24, 2003 $6.03
Thursday, June 24, 2004 $448.25
Friday, June 24, 2005 $142.93

Then I got lazy and of course Google is getting smarter…

I know it was easy to trick AdSense using some blackhat techniques. Now you can be slapped with AdSense smart pricing if not banned for using the same technique.

$448 a day? If you can still do that today, I salute you!! Haha ๐Ÿ™‚ But seriously, that is a record! (in this comment post at least.)

I’ve tried some blackhat techniques out of curiosity but I found it is not easy as you said. And it never works for me.

Stick to natural/whitehat techniques, you will be rewarded in the long run though it is not easy (hey blackhat technique is not easy too) and requires consistency.

If you found something works, like blogging, building super niche sites, adwords then go for it. I found monetizing sites using text link ads really works well for me.

It’s actually easier to make money using blackhat techniques especially during the old days until the search engines caught up. Problem is, they don’t last long and the search engines evolve.

For example, creating thousands of articles using automated software and plastering AdSense on them doesn’t work anymore.

I didn’t make any money for the first week!.

then suddenly i got excited one day when I got three clicks for .21$.I thought wow!.

But this was the only excitement for the the months and coming months too…..I blame it on my irregular posting on the blog!.

But now ,I knew the secret!..

I am going at a cool rate of 5$ per month….got to improve a lot!.

My site earns me a $5 a day in adsense if I’m lucky to get atleast 6 clicks a day. You really need to have a site with high paying keywords to earn from adsense even with small traffic.
