Reader Poll: How Old Are You?
October 8, 2007 by Gaman · 21 Comments
It’s been a while since I conducted a poll here so I think it’s about time to do it again.
This time I am going to ask a typical demographic question about the readers’ age. On top of my head, I predicted that the majority of Sabahan.com’s readers belong to the 26-30 age group.
However because of the niche this blog belongs to, the 31 to 35 is also likely to be the biggest age group. Regardless, it would be interesting to find out.
If you vote 15 years or younger (or 60+ for that matter), tell us your exact age if you don’t mind sharing. Hey tell us anyway if you feel like it

Super Fast One Hour or Less Google Indexing
October 5, 2007 by Gaman · 18 Comments
After I published my previous post, I noticed from my user’s online page Googlebot came munching the content almost immediately.
If you Google the term “latest google pagerank update Sabahan” you will notice that the post appears first on the list, but that’s besides my point.
When I did the search at 9:30PM, I noticed the post was indexed 7 hours ago as shown in the screenshot below. That’s about an hour after I published the post at 1:30PM. It appears that now it takes Google about an hour or less to index my post.
While I’m not certain whether a blog’s PageRank and update frequency have any influence over the Google indexing speed, I tend to think they do and this shouldn’t be confined to blogs alone. Can you imagine the potential traffic you could drive to you blog if you are the first to break an important story?
Latest Google PageRank Update – How Are You Doing?
October 5, 2007 by Gaman · 42 Comments
I was reading 5xmom.com yesterday and noticed a post containing the word Sabahan.com in the title.
5xmom.com is one of the few local blogs that I like to visit for some dose of interesting insights about online making money issues that are often lacking in most local “how to make money” blogs.
The post mentions that Sabahan.com PageRank had dropped from PR5 to PR4. I don’t usually monitor my own PageRank regularly each time someone announces that an update is underway but this post has definitely caught my attention because it’s about me LOL.
In addition to Sabahan.com other blogs that have experienced a drop include Hongkiat.com and 5xmom’s personal blog at Chanlilian.net. Earlier, the popular JohnChow.com had also lost its PageRank 6.
So what’s happening here?
Malaysian Can Now Withdraw Money from their PayPal Accounts
October 1, 2007 by Gaman · 64 Comments
Not that you can’t withdraw before this but the steps usually make your head spin. Some enterprising Internet marketers even took advantage of the complicated steps by selling ebooks telling people how to do it.
Anyway, Wayne Liew emailed me to give a heads-up about a new feature recently introduced by PayPal. Wayne’s post refers to the original post by Sweet Surrender about PayPal is allowing money withdrawal to credit and debit card.
I usually don’t much pay attention to such news before. While I spent thousands of Ringgit monthly via PayPal, I’ve never really used it to accept payments.
Some of you may recall that I promoted MaxBounty at some of my websites. My main gripe about this program is that it automatically converts my commission checks into Ringgit and there’s no way avoiding this. While this means shorter clearing time, I prefer getting paid in US dollars and put up with with the long clearing time.
