Google Reducing Blogs PageRank Doing Paid Reviews to 0
November 19, 2007 by Gaman
For the past few days, a couple of blogs that were laden with paid reviews have experienced a major setback when their PageRank were removed completely.
PayPerPost CEO has voiced his concern claiming that it’s part of some sort of attempt by Google to deny the competition. Google has so much power in that when they change something, the repercussion could put some other companies out of business.
Then again Google has the right to act on something that could affect their search engine rankings unnaturally, such as selling and buying links.
Obviously, Sabahan.com wasn’t spared for selling text link ads when my PR reduces from 5 to 3. If your main income comes from selling text link ads or writing paid reviews, there’s no better time to start looking into other money making opportunity.

As the Malaysia’s queen of postie said, the party is over.
haha
its a bad news to all payperpost user. T_T
btw i heard that PR also will RIP and will be change with Google Visitor Rating (VR)

“Gee..time to change”
Too bad la google…no choice, he is the “Dai Go” mah ~~~!
Still, internet is a major source of Gold Mine. Pay-per-post program, Pay-per-click program, affiliate program etc… and more like, Forex, options and shares trading online. Maybe more. Just explore.. more
Just don’t do get rich quick schemes or pyramids and the like
true, true :haha: never try get-rich-quick after StudioTraffic case :hehe:. But trading FX online- yes, very minimal amount. It’s a very high risk investment though. Play on demo or virtual account first lah… hehe.
someone should start network where bloggers with text-link-ads and pay per post works together in referring and introducing each other in their blogs, something like john chow…
Avoid saying those “sensitive” words and you might not be affected.
yups like raymond cc said, avoid saying the sensitive words maybe can help.
Will it cause a lot of reduce in income? Sorry i am new to blogging and i don;t really know how much a blogger can earn….
i don’t see why google slapped you with your PR5-3 as i can see you posted few paid posting in your blog.
More or less this speculation was never reach the end, whereby all people doesn’t really know what is happening
actually.
Thou some others people may gave their opinion and views the fact we do not know what happen to the PR what’s the reason, or was it a planned glitch?
I may say for those who post regular post and have a regular readers and organic traffic, small reduction of income might occur but hey, thinks will get better sooner or later.
So whatever it is, Sabahan.com shud be doin fine with this problem, thou i see there is new and old ads provider placed in sabahan.com
Actually I have never done paid post here. Could you show me the URL where you think it’s a paid post?
I was slap because I serve text link ads, it’s as simple as that. If you read my previous posts, this should become clearer. There’s no mystery behind it. If you think it’s a glitch, you have a lot to catch up
hi gaman,
I mean it’s more on reviewme forgive me for the bad english and typo.
Hmmm, some people who sold Text-link never been slap nor given a kiss.
i knew some blog selling text and still maintain their PR 4-6.
This could be a well planned glitch from google, just to give a friendly warning to all competitors who ruined is
Adwords business.
But more or less, we can’t really assured what is actually happening.
i read some people got 0 pr and sold their blog like what happen to cashquests and planning to sell 5xmom
do you think this matters will be there forever or you can’t even get back your PR like usual if you really work on it?
just a piece of my thought actually, well how i wish we have a friend working at google and tell us what is happening?
if google wanna act devilished we can’t blame them as we the end user and the industry player depend so much with what google had to offer.
so more or less things won’t go anywhere when the big monster who should be able to come up with something new (algorithm) play safe.
however gaman, i love your blog with your fat content for me to read..and read..and read..
keep posting and i just subscribed your RSS.
and thanks for replying my comment ya!
Regards,
Cashmarble.com
Sorry, but again you really need to catch up with the news and industry blogs. You can read the last 20 or so entries in my blogs, I had written a lot about them. Here’s one to get you started
Also, I’ve heard someone from Google confirming this, so there’s no mystery here.
While I’ve Reviewme banner ad here before, I’ve never written paid post from any company.
Yeah it’s unfair that there are those rare sites that blatantly still do paid post and keep their PR3 or PR4 pagerank. I could easily use Google Webmaster tools to send a report. But then I don’t want to be a whistle blower. I just bookmarked their URL in my delicious page and maybe try to see what makes them so special that they are invisible to Google.
I have two of my blogs reduced to PR 0 because of paid posts.
Can you post the URL here? I’d like to find out too.
interesting.. at least my 3 month old pr is 2 already..
and no paid posts to be done
Google said PR just for entertainment only.
this google thing makes me wanna cry. my adsense account was terminated a week ago without specific reason given
great to see our fellow malaysian on the plane to online success. wishing you all the best… do update us with the outcome.. looking at your pages seams we do have similar objectives. with the same reason I commenting this too..

gaman, you are on holiday already aa? no post for long time…
:P
Not yet
sorry for the silence. Just that something came up which I needed to attend to. Will definitely post something soon.
Yes. Many people said the same thing. Si, be more careful about that. i already moved it at many blog i join today with review program.
My site PR down from 4 to 3, but the textlink advertiser has now increase from 1 to 3 ….despite the reduce of PR.
Well said, Google is so powerful that if it changes something, some people will face it rough. All the people concerned have been complaining as Google has been reduced or taken away altogether. I think they are right to do something that protects their business if it’s within their power. I would do that too but it’s going to take so many people out of business.
Ehm..i don’t know. Maybe thats why my PR blog down too fast before..
