Will I Make More Money By Placing More Ads At Sabahan.com?

November 13, 2007 by Gaman · 27 Comments

After reading an interesting post by Sha over at Shamoneymaker.com, it struck me that I’ve probably been leaving easy money on the table by not realising Sabahan.com full advertising potential.

What Sha did was calculate how much of the content are advertising space. The calculation was based on a method devised by Serverdome where they took screenshots of the visible portion of some of the top blogs and counted how much of that was paid space.

In the article, Sha asks “Does it mean that the more ads percentage has some correlation with the amount of profit can be gained from monetizing your blog?”

I couldn’t help but felt totally in awe while reading a post over at ShoeMoney.com where he answers several frequently asked questions about the AdSense Check in his Gallery that showed him holding one worth over $100K. Keep in mind that the check was for August 2005.

Sure, it’s a link bait post but a good one at that, so it’s worth linking to. If you are looking for a real life example of publishers making insane amount of money from AdSense, check this one out. Posting the picture again will continue to “resurrect” readers’ interest and certainly create an opportunity for him to promote his sites.

How Long Does It Take You To Write a Blog Post?

October 31, 2007 by Gaman · 33 Comments

Some bloggers may have the natural ability to write posts faster than their readers could read them. I guess I am somewhere in the middle, I might be able type a tad faster than the average person but when it comes to completing a post, I usually need a few hours to do so.

Short posts that require no research usually take me less than 15 minutes. But I prefer to take my time when writing long posts that require a good deal of research. My problem is I often know what to write but deciding how to write it can consume most of my time.

My Latest Blogging Projects and a Chance to Supplement Your AdSense and Affiliate Program Income

September 21, 2007 by Gaman · 14 Comments

Some of you may recall that sometime in May 2007, I’ve made an announcement to invite interested bloggers to contribute related articles for some of my blogs.

In return, I’ve promised to pay the bloggers via an AdSense revenue sharing arrangement where they would keep 100% of the AdSense income generate by their own posts.

So far I have had several interested bloggers contacted me but only one decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, our discussion didn’t materialize and nobody took up the job offer in the end.

10 Tips to Improve Your Google AdWords Quality Score

September 5, 2007 by Gaman · 7 Comments

In late 2005, Google began testing a new algorithm for AdWords to improve the quality of AdWords landing pages when Google realized that some advertisers were sending visitors to sites with low quality content or duplicate content.

Now, imagine yourself clicking on an AdSense ad and landed on such sites, you might not click AdSense as often because your may perceive the ads as low quality.

When users stop finding the ads useful, Google, AdSense publishers and AdWords advertisers will stop to make money.

To avoid this problem from plaguing the system, Google introduced an ad evaluation system called Quality Score.

When I first learned the ropes in Internet marketing, I was lucky to find several useful websites that had guided me in the right direction.

Why You Should Diversify Your Income Stream

August 16, 2007 by Gaman · 23 Comments

Since a couple of days ago, I’ve noticed several of my websites have been experiencing a massive drop in traffic, some as much as half of their normal level.

As a result, any income source that depends on free traffic from Google suffers. This includes AdSense and some affiliate programs.

Sabahan.com isn’t spared as some of you may have noticed after checking my Alexa traffic ranking. In addition, it has dropped from number one to number four for the keyword “sabahan” in Google.

Other important keywords Sabahan.com can be found for are now mostly missing from the Google first page results.

6 Tips to Make Money with Low Profit Margin Products or Services

August 13, 2007 by Gaman · 9 Comments

In one of my previous posts, I’ve recommended that it’s easier to make money from affiliate programs by selling products with good profit margins

When you are operating a lower profit margin business, it limits how much you can afford to spend on advertising. The lack of promotion ensures fewer potential customers arrive at your website, hence limits how much money you can make.

Any little hiccup that may occurs along the way could cost your business dearly. In the end, this vicious cycle becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy as there’s no way avoiding the impending failure.
