On point that I noticed mentioned repeatedly is that you need good content and good links. Without good content, it’s harder to ‘entice’ people to link to you but without good links there’s no point having good content if nobody knows you exist.

There are many people who dream of becoming their own boss and achieving financial freedom by working on the Internet - who doesn’t. But many find it difficult if not impossible to accomplish this dream.

It starts with some doubts people have in their mind which prevent them from taking actions. By not taking actions, these doubts become self-fulfilling prophecy that perpetuates the notion that you can’t make money online.

Of course it’s perfectly normal to be doubtful. However, unless you believe that you really can make good money online; your dream will never come true.

I stumble upon a collection of interesting Internet marketing and SEO tools recently from WeBuildPages.com

One of the tools is a Backlink & Anchor Text checker which checks your backlinks and shows the link text used to link to you.

If you know who is linking to you and what text they are using in the anchor text, you can focus more on the keywords that are crucial to your ranking.

This is what JohnChow.com has done when he wanted to secure a good position for the phrase “Make Money Online” in Google. He changed his review rules where reviewers are required to use the phrase “make money online” instead of JohnChow.com when linking to his blog.

The New Strait Times has recently published a story about several Malaysian who are making money on the Internet. The article featured three full-time Malaysian Internet entrepreneurs namely Samsul Zamzuri Abu Bakar (Alang), Gobala Krishnan and Liew Cheon Fong.

This is the kind of story that inspires people as it proves to them that there are ways to make real money online without getting involved in the dangerously popular get rich quick schemes.

Alang’s five figures income is derived from more than 15 websites. He got several blogs where he hires bloggers from countries like the US , and New Zealand to write the content.

I recently received an email from MrBadak. His question goes something like this

One of my readers emailed me recently asking if I could show a step by step plan to create a successful internet business. The answer to that question can be anything and it could easily cover several pages long.

Since he’s a fellow blogger too, I’ll answer his second question for a start. I thought this is probably one of the most frequently asked questions by any blogger.

Kevin Lee has written an article over at Clickz.com explaining how Yahoo’s new Panama ad ranking algorithm works.

The inner working of the new algorithm mirrors that of Google’s AdWords ad ranking. New variables are introduced into the equation to come up with a final score that determines the position of an ad.

This is far better than the previous ranking system which was based entirely on bid prices alone.

Panama ad ranking calculates the ad position by multiplying predicted CTR with bid price. A change in CTR or bid price – measured as a percentage change - will affect the ad’s position.
