How Much You Will Make With Text Link Ads On Your Site
May 24, 2006 by Gaman · 2 Comments
Text Link Ads has released the Text Link Ads Calculator which you can use to find out the value of text link ads on your site. I must say it’s clever of them to promote their service using such viral tool.

I tried entering Google and some of replies were:
Priceless!
We Can’t Print That Many Zeros
More Than You Can Afford
Fug-get about it!
Haha, Very Funny
How accurate!
Anyway, apparently I could earn up to $300 per month if I were to place text link ads at Sabahan.com. That’s not bad return for placing some tiny ads somewhere here right?
However I am a little bit wary participating in any link selling program. While selling links might not get a site banned, it might prevent it from passing along reputation. The only way to avoid this problem is to use the rel=”nofollow” attribute but as far as I know Text Link Ads do not include the nofollow tag in their links.
AdWords launches Click-to-Play Video Ads
May 24, 2006 by Gaman · Leave a Comment
Video advertising is now a reality. AdWords recently unveils the click-to play video ads for AdWords advertisers. These new ads will be shown on AdSense publisher network and will be available to advertisers in the US, Canada and Japan before they are rolled out to other regions.
Here’s an example of what they will look like
First, as with all AdWords ad formats, video ads will compete for placement on sites in the Google content network with other text, Flash and image ads — and, as with our other image ad placements, you can choose to bid on a CPC or CPM basis.
Second, these ads will be supported by both site- and keyword-targeted campaigns. You can choose to serve your video ad on a specific site or on pages in our content network that relate to your product or service. As always, you have the ability to geo-target your video ads internationally, nationally, or locally.
Important Legal Notice Regarding Your Google AdWords Account
That’s the subject of the email I received today.
It contains the following message written in several different languages besides English.
This court-ordered notice may affect your legal rights. Please read it carefully. If you purchased online advertising from Google between January 1, 2002 and the present, you are a class member in a class-action lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Miller County, Arkansas. This notice is to inform you of the Court’s certification of a class; the nature of the claims alleged; your right to participate in, or exclude yourself from, the class; a proposed settlement; and how you can claim an award of advertising credits under the settlement. Please read the attached notice.
You can get more information at: www.clicksettlement.com.
There’s a PDF attachment containing further information regarding the court ordered notice and settlement.
Google AdWords Adds Standard & Accelerated Ad Delivery Options
May 19, 2006 by Gaman · Leave a Comment
Google AdWords has added a method to allow you choose the ad delivery method you prefer. The choice will affect how quickly your ads are shown each day. The two options include
- Standard: Show ads evenly over time
- Accelerated: Show ads as quickly as possible
|
Standard delivery |
This option is automatically selected for you, and is best if you want your ads to reach a wide range of users over the course of the day. We’ll spread your ad impressions across the day to make sure you don’t accrue all of your clicks early on. However, if your budget is set below the system-recommended budget, your ads may not receive all possible impressions.
For example, if you want to spend US$30.00 over 30 days, your daily budget would be US$1.00. With standard delivery, your ads would appear throughout the day, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.. If your system-recommended daily budget is US$3.00, you may receive only one third of all impressions possible during that time.
Google AdWords Traffic Estimator Now Available As a Standalone
Ann Lee from the AdWords account management team announced recently that you can now get traffic and cost estimates on search keywords without logging into your AdWords account.
Those who are not an AdWords member would now have the chance to get their hands on this particularly helpful tool.
Members have to keep in mind that the estimates this standalone tool provides won’t take your individual settings and history into account, while accessing the tool from within an Ad Group of your account will.

The $10,000 per day AdSense Story Is a Lie?
May 10, 2006 by Gaman · 5 Comments
ShoeMoney has accused Markus Frind the owner of PlentyOf Fish.com is lying when he claimed he’s making $10,000 per day from Adsense.
ShoeMoney writes in his blog:
I remember when this guy was posting he was making 30$ a day from AdSense on webmasterworld. Then he solicited some people to scrape dating profiles of females from random sites so he could fill his dating website with female profiles.
Then he puts out some fake press releases with bullsh*t statistics like 5th largest dating site.
Now he makes up some crap that he is making 10k/day from AdSenseHe hires people to blog about his bull crap and sends email to every blogger (including me) offering a “exclusive interview”. I called him out when he emailed me and told him I was not buying into his bullocks.

There’s an interesting post over at Out of My Gord about an eye tracking study conducted by them. They went one step further than the previous one that came up with the Golden Triangle moniker. The study showed that getting your site placed above the fold inside the Golden Triangle doesn’t guarantee a good CTR, you have to deliver relevancy as well in order to capture a searcher’s click. An Interview with Marcus Frind, the $10,000 per day AdSense Publisher
I’ve written earlier about Markus Frind, the owner and creator of the Internet dating site, PlentyOfFish.com who was making over $10,000 per day from Adsense.
Now he has agreed to be interviewed again via podcast. The interview discusses the difference between corporate looking design and ‘ugly’ design. Does ugly web design make more money from Adsense?
You can listen to the 30 minute long postcast interview here.
It can be inspirational to listen to the interview on how a one man show can make that much with AdSense.
How to Make Money From Your Blog
May 4, 2006 by Gaman · 7 Comments
Steve Pavlina is making $200 per day from blogging. He detailed his experience in a yet another seriously long article which explains how he did it.
I’ve read several of Steve’s other articles and found that he has his own ways of doing things. While some people may not necessarily agree with all his opinions, at the end of the day, it just goes to show that there’s more than one way to skin a cat
This is one of the longer one about making money from blogging. The discussion ranges from your intention for blogging, to getting traffic to picking your niche.
He concluded with a paragrapgh on Blogging lifestyle:
Perhaps the best part of generating income from blogging is the freedom it brings. I work from home and set my own hours. I write whenever I’m inspired to write (which for me is quite often). Plus I get to spend my time doing what I love most — working on personal growth and helping others do the same. There’s nothing I’d rather do than this.
