Interesting Videos From YouTube.com

Here’s a few interesting videos I came across today

Master Plan – About the power of Google

While the privacy concern addressed by the video can be genuine to a certain extent, somehow I think this as nothing more than a potentially good plot for a conspiracy theory movie.

We know Yahoo and Microsoft collect more details personal information from their users that Google has ever did.

Microsoft adCenter for example allows me to target my advertising campaign based on surfer’s age and gender besides the geographical targeting.

A YouTube Clip with Google Ads

I hope this is not how Google will choose to integrate AdSense into YouTube video clips. LOL

Interesting Video

This video clip is created by Michael Wesch, Assistant Professor of Cultural anthropology.

It basically sum up how the Internet is affecting our daily life and how it has changed in the past decade. Still, it’s the very thing we take for granted.

Make Money By Uploading Your Video At YouTube?

January 29, 2007 by · 3 Comments

BBC News recently reported that YouTube was working on an ad revenue sharing program that will allow video uploaders to get a share of the ad revenue. The exact date has not been decided but the program rollout could begin as quickly as within the next couple of months.

This program could enable video creators to make money each time their videos are watched on YouTube. This idea is not new, other video sharing sites such as Revver already split advertising revenues with their users.

One of the options considered is to show the audience of YouTube video a short advert of three seconds length. I would imagine most users would be more tolerant with this arrangement as compare to the industry standard of 15 to 30 seconds ads.

Google TV Coming To A Computer Screen Near You Soon!

January 28, 2007 by · 1 Comment

In the video Mark Erickson of Infinite Solutions shows us how to get a free GoogleTV invite. This service allows you to watch archived shows from FOX, NBC, CBS, and more with ads embedded into each video.

It involves several hoops which you’ll have to go through including having to log in and out of Gmail until a “random number generator” gives you and invite based on the number of times you’ve logged in.

Actually this is just a well made prank on an alleged secret test invite for an upcoming “Google TV”.

Would you be willing to give it a try? Too bad I don’t have time to waste LOL

If you got bored, check out another video from this guy on how to increase your WiFi signals.

You can do that by wrapping your cell phone in an Ethernet cable and taping it to a salad bowl. How fancy! LOL

YouTube Viral Broker

July 25, 2006 by · Leave a Comment

This is a funny video parody about an independent viral video broker Kevin Nalty working to clinch big deals for the viral video stars with Coca Cola.

Among those involved are Judson Laipply (Evolution of Dance), Smoosh (YouTube Viral Creator), Gary (Numa Numa Kid).

Perhaps this is one of the possible scenarios in the future when viral video monetization is fully embraced.

Google Documentary: Behind the Screen

July 17, 2006 by · Leave a Comment

Peter Da Vanzo of v7n points us to an interesting 47 minutes long video about Google – Behind the Screen Documentary at GUBA.

Peter writes:

Then the documentary starts to ask some hard questions – about the Holocaust. The documentary looks at the subjective bias of the algorithms, and the nature of truth. Privacy questions. Retaining data. The potential for the mis-use of information. “Why would someone want to make all the worlds information available?” – the inference being, I think, that underneath lies a desire for control. Is information storage and retrieval going to be a private enterprise or a public enterprise, and what are the consequences of that?

Star Trek vs. Star Wars

June 13, 2006 by · Leave a Comment

I haven’t posted a funny/interesting video for a while so I think it’s about time to post a video entry. I came across the interesting video from YouTube via digg.

What would happen if the starship Enterprise encountered the Death Star? A clever editing of the original movie and show mixes together different scenes to create a new storyline about a battle between the Enterprise and an Imperial Star Destroyer.
