It’s been a while since I conducted a poll here so I think it’s about time to do it again.

This time I am going to ask a typical demographic question about the readers’ age. On top of my head, I predicted that the majority of Sabahan.com’s readers belong to the 26-30 age group.

However because of the niche this blog belongs to, the 31 to 35 is also likely to be the biggest age group. Regardless, it would be interesting to find out.

If you vote 15 years or younger (or 60+ for that matter), tell us your exact age if you don’t mind sharing. Hey tell us anyway if you feel like it

However, blogs in certain niches such as politics or technology might attract a large portion of non bloggers readers because of the wider appeal of the subjects.

Now it’s time for me to run another poll.

From what I know about the type of audience that visits Sabahan.com, the outcome of the poll is quite predictable but here’s a question for you anyway.

It would be interesting to see the percentage of bloggers to non-bloggers that visits Sabahan.com

The argument is that visitors are more likely to subscriber to a feed if they see a higher count because it tells them that you are an authoritative voice in your niche.

If everyone is subscribing to your feed, surely you know what you are talking about and they should subscribe to it too. In order words, some people use your subscriber counts to judge the quality of your blog.

So for the past few weeks I’ve decided to hide my FeedBurner counter to test this theory. I can’t remember exactly when I started to hide it but it was definitely a few days before my John Chow ReviewMe was published.

As you can see below, the number of my subscribers has been increasing gradually. However, I can’t say it’s solely because of the hidden FeedBurner counter. As you may know, I’ve been promoting Sabahan.com via ReviewMe at John Chow Dot Com, then later via AdWords and these definitely have contributed to the increase.

I am going to continue to hide the subscriber count to see if it could speed up the subscribing process.

Some may argue that it doesn’t really matter if you have 20 or 2000 readers who are religiously following your blog. That 20 people are real people. It shows that you are providing useful information that worth their time and this is something you should be proud of.

How about you? Does the FeedBurner counts influence your opinion as to the quality and authority of a blog? Are you more likely to subscribe to a blog if it has a higher subscriber counts?

If I could identify the most nagging problem faced by my readers, I can write more about it or rather how to solve it. I reminded myself to only write useful posts and each day I try to come up with something that will solve a readers’ problem.

So this blog is going to be more and more about what you can learn about blogging and WordPress, making money online, software tips and tricks, and interesting news from around the Web. It has been that way before but now I’ll ensure only good quality articles make the cut.

For some people, they always feel the need to post something and always thinking about the next post. They feel that they are letting people down if they don’t have any new posts up on their blog.

I used to feel that way too. However, when blogging burnout begins to creep in and I need to cut back a bit on something – not blogging on the weekends seem to do the trick. Once you’ve established a routine, your readers will know what to expect so it’s fine to take sometime out.

However, it doesn’t mean I don’t work on the weekends even when I take a break from blogging. That’s if I don’t go anywhere.

OK it’s time for another poll and this is for the bloggers among you.

Running a poll gives my readers the opportunity to give a feedback about my blog. I’ll be able to know them better by asking questions that matter most to them. Then, I could use this information to improve this blog.

If you ask me that question, my answer would be ‘Money’.

That’s one of the major factors that motivate me to continue on blogging. Being an Internet marketer and working full time online myself, I can’t help but to spend my time and put the efforts on things that bring some financial rewards.

Realistically speaking, I have to pay the bills and can’t afford to work for nothing.

BUT fortunately money is not the only thing that motivates me. If it is, I wouldn’t have cared about my posts quality and whether they impart some new and useful information on my readers.

I would have Kontera ads, write pay per post in every topic conceivable and put blinking image ads all over the place just to squeeze every cent out of my pages. Money as the only motivation leads to the creation of sploggers. It may generate some income in the short term but that won’t last long.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying those who put Kontera ads, or write pay per posts in their blogs are sploggers. These are valid ways to monetize a blog but only if they don’t distract the positive users’ experience.

I’ve rejected Kontera and permanent third party image ads before but I definitely do not discount their relevance in blog monetization and thus there’s a chance that I might still use them here at Sabahan.com in the future.

I guess I also have a passion in writing to share my experience and teach others how to make money on the Net. The combination of these two, i.e. money and passion in the subject are what kept me going – churning articles one after another day in day out.

As for me I try to maintain writing three posts daily if I can but, that’s not always possible especially if something came up that needs to be dealt with immediately. That will distract me from my normal routine.

Some people may argue that posting frequency does not really matter anymore but that’s not the point of this post. I just want you to share your opinion what your think the ideal number as far as your own situation is concern.
