Microsoft’s ‘Origami’ finally unveiled

The much hyped ultra portable PC from Microsoft was finally launched on Thursday. Origami is a paperback size portable computer, with is hybrid between a laptop PC and mobile devices.

The new machines will connect wirelessly to the Internet and carry full-sized hard drives, but they are not intended to replace current PCs.

Microsoft’s track record in promoting an alternative PC has produced mixed results. The tablet PC has not yet gained broad appeal despite strong backing from founder Bill Gates.

The device seems overpriced at over US1000. Several people speculate that the device will find troubles finding its market. People will have higher expectation, they’ll demand more features and better battery life when paying such a high price item.
