Google’s January 2008 PageRank Update
January 15, 2008 by Gaman
There has been a lot of buzz around the blogosphere and forums about the recent changes in PageRank and backlinks counts from Google
From where I am sitting, I can see that Google is getting tougher towards those selling text link ads and paid reviews. It appears that Sabahan.com is penalized again for selling text links, and this time around my PageRank has been reduced to 0.
Personally I think PageRank is important but not as important as the amount of traffic you get. For example if 10K unique visitors stop by at your blog daily, and you are making tons of money from them, do you really care about your PageRank? I don’t.
Google AdSense Referral Changes and How It Affects You
January 14, 2008 by Gaman
If you are promoting Google AdSense referrals, you may no longer able to enjoy the fruits of your labor. The change will affect publishers from certain location regardless of where their users are located.
Specifically, if you are NOT from the US or Canada, Latin America, and Japan, Google will no longer pay you for referring new publishers to Google AdSense and that would include Malaysian publishers and those from other big countries like the UK and Australia.
How to Make 2008 Your Most Profitable Year Ever
January 10, 2008 by Gaman
For those of you who have been waiting for an update from me, sorry to keep you waiting. Things cropped up just when I planned to sit down and get back to my regular work routine. Nothing major though, so here I am. Welcome back to me
In addition, while I’ve started working since a couple of days ago, I didn’t feel motivated enough to do tasks that require too much attention.
As much as a workaholics that I am, shifting gears to return to work would be as hard as going away in the first place. I guess the thought of having to return to my regular routine, with all the disciplines it demands takes a certain amount effort.
Wishing You A Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
December 20, 2007 by Gaman
December is the time of the year when I usually take a break from working. While I am not totally away from the computer most of the time, it’s hard to get into my normal working routine when my mood dictates that I should be doing something else!
December is the time for shopping, getting ready for Christmas, balik kampung, barbeque and Aramai Tii! The last phrase is a typical expression used by Sabahan when they are having a jolly good time.

Telling everyone about my goals reminds me that there’ll be more people to prod me along if I fall behind. Therefore I’ll be more likely to stick with them. Ok lets review them one by one.

Why Google Hates Paid Reviews
December 2, 2007 by Gaman
I haven’t been able to post anything for over a week because something came up and I needed to take care of it right away. Anyway, since I’ll be away from the computer again tomorrow I guess it’s best to spend sometime writing to let you guys know that I am still alive and kicking
While browsing my RSS feed on a lazy Sunday afternoon looking for something to write about, I saw a post by Matt Cutts which I thought you should know especially if you are doing paid reviews.
Google Reducing Blogs PageRank Doing Paid Reviews to 0
November 19, 2007 by Gaman
For the past few days, a couple of blogs that were laden with paid reviews have experienced a major setback when their PageRank were removed completely.
PayPerPost CEO has voiced his concern claiming that it’s part of some sort of attempt by Google to deny the competition. Google has so much power in that when they change something, the repercussion could put some other companies out of business.
Then again Google has the right to act on something that could affect their search engine rankings unnaturally, such as selling and buying links.
New Advertising Units at Sabahan.com
November 16, 2007 by Gaman
As you may have noticed, I’ve started adding a couple of new advertising units on Sabahan.com. Obviously one that’s making a come back is Kontera.
I tried signing up with Nuffnang but stopped short of completing the form when I was asked for my IC number. May be I am used to giving out only basic personal information during any online sign up and when more is required, I’ll feel a little hesitant to proceed.
7 Reasons Why Newbies Fail to Make Money from AdWords
November 14, 2007 by Gaman
Those who have been using AdWords for sometime know that it takes some trial and error to achieve some level of success. Newbies may find their AdWords experience frustrating when they continue to get low CTRs, losing money.
Then, having their campaign slapped which results in a low quality score increases their minimum CPC bid to $5 or more. Often this could mark the end of their plan to make money with AdWords.
So they wonder if there’s a well guarded secret used by all the other affiliates who have been making tidy profit from AdWords. What did I do that was not right?
