CPA Marketing Network Targeted For Bloggers Launched

Posted on 14th July, 2006

Jim Kukral recently launched BlogKits, a CPA (cost per action) network targeted specifically for bloggers.

The program will be officially opened in late summer/early fall 2006 and currently accepting application.

The aim of the program is to help bloggers make money by supplementing their AdSense income with CPA offers from selected merchants such as Peapod.com. Care One Credit, Peter Leeds, Winesource, and Gadgetstuff. BlogKits is not one of those “pay for posting” programs.

I don’t know if CPA ad network for bloggers would take off but I am incline to believe that such network will have harder time to compete with existing affiliate networks such as CJ.com and Linkshare.com for audience.

I think the problem with CPA network for bloggers is that a blog is not the most suitable platform to promote CPA ads to start with. People visit blog to read and learn stuff and simply adding links to some CPA offers on the sidebar will result in terrible conversion rates as they will be seen as mere advertisements.

CPA ads would convert well if they are placed in context inside a post. But how many times you could write about a product in your posts without annoying your readers?

You are right. The program could be popular among bloggers since it’s new.

But those bloggers who have already joined affiliate networks such as CJ.com or Linkshare usually complaint about the poor conversion rates.

Even with thousands of products to choose from, I personally find it hard to recommend a single, suitable product contextually in my blogs. I do not have problem promoting CPA in my other websites though.

Now imagine the average bloggers are less marketing savvy. That’s why AdSense becomes so popular. I don’t know if we can do “paste it and leave it” with CPA ads. The extra effort required in promoting CPA ads could prove to be its disadvantage.

Could Blogkits make any different in this matter? To be honest I don’t know. But I am not very convince, at least not yet, sorry.

  • I think that the program has a great chance to succeed because it seems there is nothing like it connected specifically to the blogging community.

Also in all my research there is a tremendous, pent-up demand for online advertising slots. There is a lot of money sitting on the table waiting to be spent by advertisers looking for the right places to put it.

Since competitors have been around for awhile, it seems they aren’t being used by a lot of marketers. This should imply a strong opening for someone to come in and be successful.

It does have to be done right though.

Yes, we “restructured” it into a real cpa network. I’ve had the site and the other signup form up since Jan 2005.
