Dubai – The World’s Fastest Growing City

Posted on 6th June, 2006

Here’s an amazing collection of pictures showing what’s going on in Dubai.

In many areas, it is not easy to see Dubai’s sky without at least one crane in your view; Industry experts cautiously estimate that 15 to 25 per cent of the world’s cranes are in Dubai. Some US$ 90 BILLION are on-going in Dubai alone.

Reading the comments on digg, it’s sad to see how some people tend to jump into conclusion without even knowing what they are talking about just because the city is located in the middle east.

Anyway, it has always amazes me how progressive Dubai can be.

The economy was too dependant on oil before. As the oil reserve continues to deplete, they start to diversify the economy. Everybody has to start somewhere right?

Look at Brunei, they don’t seems too concern about diversification, at least not yet.
