Online Ad Expenditures Soar 38 Percent to $3.8 billion

Posted on 11th June, 2006

According to IAB the online ad business is continuing to expand.

The IAB estimates record first-quarter online ad expenditures of $3.9 billion, a 38 percent increase from the same period in 2005 and a 6 percent rise from the previous quarter. In Q1 2005, Internet ad spending rose 26 percent from the same period in 2004 and 4 percent from the previous quarter, per the IAB.

This could only mean we’ll continue to have the chance to make money, more money from AdSense and other advertising avenue.

I remember when I first started placing AdSense in one of my non-English websites. I was getting Public Service Ads nearly 99% of the time.

Two years later today, the situation has significantly reversed. It seems that my ad spaces are filled up with paying ads over 99% of the time.

I find it easier to make money, $5 to $15 dollars per day from AdSense, which was not possible even last year for my non-English website.

However, simply adding AdSense code into your pages won’t guarantee paying ads to be displayed on your site especially if you have a non-English site. You need to target your keywords to increase the chance of displaying paying ads.
