Time saving tips: How to have a 36 hour day
Posted on 26th March, 2006
I’ve been always looking for time saving tips or books that could help me use my time more productively, but the funny thing is, sometimes it seems that I’ve been unable to spare some time to do those things in the first place due to my schedule. Usually I just procrastinated until other priorities were completely dealt with.
Anyway, there’s an insightful article at Zaadz about practical time saving strategies that you can implement in your daily life so that you can have more hours of functional time. You can potentially save up to 12 hours per day by putting the strategies into practice.
I’ve been doing or tried some of the strategies without thinking about how much time I may have saved such as reducing my sleep, or rather optimizing my sleep. I get by fine with 8 hours sleep but anything less than 6 hours would usually make me a walking zombie the next day. But I am getting better as now I need less sleep than before to feel rested. On a side note, according to a study, people who get 6 to 7 hours of night have a lower death rate than those who get 8 hours of sleep.
Another strategy that I’ve been doing is try to improve my typing speed. I’ve actually spent US34.90 to buy the TypingMaster software! It does pay off, but I still find it hard to spare some time learning to improve my typing speed in the first place!
The rest of the strategies include multitasking, getting organized, speed reading, outsourcing and more.
I truly believe we can really save time if we put those strategies into practice, it all comes down to self-discipline.
